Abdulaziz has over 14 years of work experience. He is the General Manager of Planning & Assets at the Public Authority for Electricity & Water (PAEW) in Oman since March 2016. Abdulaziz is a member of a number of government committees and company boards. He is a member of the PAEW Executive Management Committee and a member of the Oman vision 2040 committee for aligning strategies.
Previously, Abdulaziz was a Senior Manager for Privatisation and Restructuring between June 2013 and March 2016 in which he was involved in a number of electricity and water related policy discussions, such as the water restructuring project, privatisation of state owned electricity distribution companies, Gulf Cooperation unified water strategy amongst other matters.
Before joining PAEW, Abdulaziz was the Manager of Planning and Regulatory Affairs in Mazoon Electricity Company and was in charge for the network planning and the regulatory business planning. He led the company multi-department taskforce twice for preparing, presenting and negotiating the company Price Control Submission (growth business plan) in 2008 and 2011.
Abdulaziz earned a Bachelor`s degree from the Sultan Qaboos university, Muscat and a Master`s degree in Business Administration from the same university. In 2013, he completed a leadership programme “Building on Talent” at the IMD Business School, Switzerland. Abdulaziz has held several roles, including being a board member for the Omani Society for Engineers.
